DIY Ice Cream Cone Tray
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! And we all love ice cream around here, it must be in our DNA. Ice cream cones are such a simple and fun treat for kids and we were trying to come up with a festive way to present the cones. And this is it. It’s so easy, you won’t believe it. Have you ever used balsa wood? It’s our new favorite supply.
Read on to find out how to make this cute ice cream cone tray!Supplies: foot long sheet of balsa wood, exacto knife, ribbon, hole punch
Instructions:
1. Trace 1 3/8 inch circles about an inch and a half apart on the top of your balsa wood. We used the cap of our Tom’s kids toothpaste to make perfect circles.
2. Using your sharp Exacto knife, cut firmly your circles.
3. Use your hole punch to cut little circles on each end of your tray. We punched them 2 inches apart. Thread your ribbon (we used 5/8 inch wide ribbon, about 10 inches long) through the holes and tie knots on bottom. Trim edges.
Tip: Position tray on top of two glasses on your counter top to keep steady while you scoop your ice cream cones and place them in tray. And now it’s time to present your ice cream cones!
