Free Printable School Lunch Packing List

Now that my daughter is in third grade, I thought it was about time that she help, or on second thought, make her own lunch for school. She is definitely old enough to make “good-for-you” lunch decisions. We created this Free Printable School Lunch Packing List to get your school-aged child ready to make these packing decisions. We are excited to be partnering with SkinnyPop® popcorn today to share this kid-friendly free printable.

The printable is broken down by day of the week, with rows for each major food group. Your child can check off each group like fruit, veggies, dairy, etc. Did you notice we added a row at the bottom titled “fun”? SkinnyPop® Popcorn can add a little excitement and fun to your kid’s lunch, without being a sugar-filled snack. Kids are excited to have a special snack in their lunch and parents can feel good about it – it’s delicious, and made with just three simple ingredients – popcorn, sunflower oil, (and just the right amount of) salt. I mean, who doesn’t love popcorn?!

Using the school lunch packing list printable has lead to some great discussions in our house about how to make wholesome choices when packing your lunch. My daughter has always done well with having at least two options when making a decision, so we giver her a few choices when packing her lunch. For example, she can pack apple slices or strawberries for her fruit option. Or cucumbers or carrots for her veggie. Protein could include a salami tortilla wrap or a turkey sandwich. Dairy options include yogurt or cheese slices.
