It’s the season to get healthy. As we wrote this week in our Fall Wellness Kick Off, it’s time to put our health and fitness on the top of the list. So why not start with breakfast? I find myself in a breakfast rut quite a bit. Toast one day, oatmeal the next, then some eggs. I’m sharing my new favorite go-to, a healthy quinoa breakfast bowl recipe. Read more for the recipe.I like to cook a big batch of quinoa each week to keep in the fridge to add to salads. My friend Jen, a nutritionist, taught me that trick! She shared with us some of her favorite healthy snacks too.
Quinoa is great to warm up some quinoa with almond milk and create your own breakfast bowl. Here’s the recipe I love to make. It’s warm, it’s satisfying and filling and just sweet enough.
Quinoa Breakfast Bowl

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 Tablespoon maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
berries and nuts of your choice
Cook the quinoa according to directions. Make sure you rinse the quinoa before cooking. Then add the almond milk, maple syrup, cinnamon and top with your choice of nuts and berries.
