I saw this placemat on clearance at Anthropologie and knew I had to do something with it. It is a double sided placemat with beautiful details. I thought it would be perfect in my daughter’s bedroom.
What I love about this project is how simple it is….only 3 steps. This project takes 15 minutes!

How to turn a placemat into a pillow
Materials: Double sided placemat (make sure it has 2 pieces of fabric sewn together), needle and thread, seam ripper, scissors, pillow fill
Step 1: Use the seam ripper to make a 3 inch opening on the bottom of place mat.
Step 2: Use the fill to stuff the placemat. Make sure to fill the placemat to each corner and fill in middle.
Step 3: Use coordinating thread to hand sew the opening at the bottom closed. I used the same type stitch as the placemat.
