Easter Egg Hunt Ideas
We love Easter Egg Hunts in our family! Whether it is a egg hunt outside for kids with the classic plastic eggs filled with candy or an adult egg hunt with eggs filled with candy and money, it is such a fun Easter tradition with family!
Today we are sharing some of our favorite Easter Egg Hunt Ideas for kids, teens and adults!

Easter Egg Hunt Ideas for Kids
Classic Backyard Egg Hunt
Hide plastic eggs throughout the yard with candy, stickers, and small toys inside. You can add candy and treats too! A fun idea is to add golden eggs with special prizes for extra fun! These golden eggs could have coins, dollar bills, etc.
Color-Coded Egg Hunt
My mother-in-law assigns each grandchild a specific egg color to find! This ensures a fair hunt and makes it fun for everyone! You don’t want the older kids getting all of the eggs during the grandkid egg hunt! Ha!
Printable Egg Hunt Activity
This is such a fun way to not have all the eggs filled with candy! We have a free printable that you can download and print that has fun and festive ideas for kids to do. Like dance like a chicken or sing your ABC’s. It is tailored for younger kids. Grab the printable here.
Egg Team Relay Race
If you have a large number of kids for the egg hunt, divide kids into teams. Each team will have a color egg that they are going for. Each team member finds one egg at a time, then tags the next person. First team to collect all their eggs wins a special prize – like a golden egg!
Puzzle Egg Hunt
If your family loves puzzles, try this puzzle themed egg hunt! Place puzzle pieces inside the eggs. Once all are found, the family work together to complete the puzzle! This is perfect for rainy day Easter Egg Hunts!
Easter Egg Hunt Ideas for Teens
Glow-in-the-Dark Hunt
Host an evening hunt with glow stick-filled eggs or LED light-up eggs. This is so much fun for the older kids! You can grab these eggs from amazon today.
Scavenger Hunt Style
Create a simple scavenger hunt for teens! Instead of randomly hidden eggs, give teens a list of clever clues or riddles that lead them to each egg location.
Egg Trade-In Table
Let the teen or tweens collect eggs and trade them in for prizes! These prizes could be snacks, candy, phone accessories, movie tickets, gift cards and more!
Truth or Dare Eggs
Fill eggs with funny truth-or-dare prompts. Teens open and complete them throughout the hunt (great for a group of friends, cousins, etc).
Easter Egg Hunt Ideas for Adults
Couples or Team Hunt
Pair people up (or have a team) and have them search together. Add twists like “only one person can touch the egg” or “both must be holding hands while hunting.” Think about fun outdoor kids games with an adult twist!
Egg Hunt Challenges
Think Survivor or Minute to Win It games for this style of egg hunt. Each egg has a challenge: trivia, physical task, or brain teaser. Complete it to keep the egg. Can’t complete it, the egg goes back into hiding.
