Summer is here and we are already obsessed with watermelons. Summer also means coming up with easy craft ideas to keep the kiddos entertained at home. We are starting a series just for this… Summer Crafts for Kids. Today we are kicking off the series with a homemade watermelon stamp. There are so many birthdays this summer that we had the kids make their very own wrapping paper. Simple supplies, simple instructions and a lovely finished product!

Some other fun craft ideas for the kiddos this summer include shaving cream marbled paper, sidewalk chalk paint, watercolor notebooks, and painted birdhouses.

Steps:

1. Cut top of foam circle in half about 1/2 inch. Cut around that half to create the half circle (or watermelon shape). Remove half of the top of foam.

2. Apply thin layer of red paint with foam brush.

3. Press foam stamp onto white paper.

4. When paint is dry, use green marker to draw on watermelon core.

5. Add watermelon seeds with the black marker.

6. This is a fun project for multiple kids to work on together.

Use the watermelon paper for all of your summer birthdays. Heck, you could even frame the stamped paper for some kid-made art!
