DIY Citronella Candles

This was my first attempt at making homemade candles and I have to say – I am obsessed! It is so incredibly easy to make candles at home. I made this project for the Oriental Trading’s site, FUN365 for a summertime DIY. I loved working on this project so much that I have made candles at home multiple times since then! I made the candles in glass votives. I have been using them on my deck and patio all summer. They look great inside of the mini-galvanized square buckets. I bought a big bag of soy candle wax  and ordered citronella oil online.

These candles have become my go-to hostess gift this summer as well. I wrapped some decorative ribbon or paper around the votives. My next candle making project will be making a larger size citronella candle for the lake house! Hope you will enjoy candle making as much as I have been.
