Valentine Pink Heart Rice Krispie Treats
I can’t believe that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Here’s a super simple Valentine treat to make with the kids – pink heart Rice Krispie treats.
As you can see we like pink around here. Calla, my four year old, helped with the treats, especially adding the food coloring, hence the very vibrant pink color we got.
These treats would make great Valentines for the kids to bring to school. I’ve designed a free printable for you to use. It’s also fun to turn these heart treats into Rice Krispie lollipops. Just insert a popsicle stick or lollipop stick and you’ve got a fun treat for the kids.
All you need are marshmallows, rice krispies, pink or red food coloring and a heart cookie cookie. Read more for the full recipe and instructions… and to get the free printable download.
Pink Heart Rice Krispie Treats
3 T butter
4 cups mini marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
pink food coloring
Melt the 3 T butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in 4 cups mini marshmallows, add pink coloring. (I used the Wilton gel food coloring which gives it a very bright pink color).
Stir in the 6 cups of cereal. Spoon the mixture in a buttered 9×13 pan. Put a little bit of butter on your fingers and press the mixture flat into the pan.
Let cool for five minutes, then pop the treats onto a cutting board. Use a heart cookie cutter to cut out your shapes.
