The New Year always gets us in the mood to organize everything in the house. A great place to start is the mudroom. No matter the size of the mudroom, there is always room to organize. 

Today we are sharing a DIY project we did for hunker. We turned an Ikea Besta frame into a functional Ikea Hack Mudroom Storage Bench.

What makes this Ikea Hack Mudroom Storage Bench project so special? Personally I think it is the white frame, cabinet doors, legs and the wood top. We also added some chic brushed brass cabinet pulls that add a touch of sophistication. But another added DIY project makes this mudroom bench all the more comfortable. We made an upholstered wall pad. 

How to make an Upholstered Pad for a Bench

We used the same method for this mudroom bench pad that we used for the DIY Upholstered Headboard.

We used a piece of plywood, foam mattress pad, batting and an Ikea blanket as our fabric. Leather straps secured by brass screw caps… these are some of our favorites to use for projects. These screw caps cover the screw to leave such a polished finish.
